Pillars to Wellness: Hydration

Drink your water!

So over the next couple of weeks we’re exploring what we believe to be the keys to Wellness being: Rest, Hydration, Movement + Nutrition, and that each of these pillars play a key role to your overall Wellbeing.

Today we’re talking HYDRATION….

We know that Hydration is a fundamental component of maintaining overall health and wellbeing, and that water is essential for every single cell and organ in the body to function properly. And with that in mind, here are our five reasons why hydration should be at the front of your mind each and every day… Helps regulate body temperature: the process of sweating and cooling the body all comes from the water we drink and prevents us from overheating

  1. Supports digestion: Drinking enough water helps our digestive system function properly. It can make the digestion process more efficient and can prevent constipation and other digestive issues.

  2. Increases brain function: Being dehydrated can lead to headaches, dizziness, and fatigue, which can negatively affect cognitive function and productivity.

  3. Promotes healthy skin: Water helps to moisturize the skin from the inside out, making it look more youthful and radiant. Drink up!

  4. Prevents dehydration: Dehydration can lead to a range of health issues such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and heat exhaustion. Keeping hydrated helps us stay healthy and maintain peak physical fitness.

Here’s our tips when it comes to HYDRATION…

  • Keep a water bottle with you at all times

  • Choose purified water

  • Aim for 2L (ladies) or 3L (gentlemen) per day

  • Choose water first, over other drink options

  • Drink at least 20mins before and after meals (not during)

So drink up! Sleep tight. Drink your water. Eat healthy. Move your body. Stay well. Much love N x
